Woman scammed by email she thought was from her boss: Beachwood police blotter


BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Theft by deception: Commerce Park

At 9:50 a.m. July 7, an employee of Innovative Medical Supply, 23950 Commerce Park, reported being the victim of theft. The employee, a Cleveland Heights woman, 23, told police that she received an email from someone posing as her boss and telling her to purchase gift cards in the amount of $3,600.

The woman complied before realizing she was the victim of a scam.

Psychiatric situation: Harvard Road

At 8:55 a.m. July 8, it was reported that a North Randall woman, 30, who was seeing a doctor about her broken leg at University Hospitals Rehabilitation Hospital, 23333 Harvard Road, became upset and punched the doctor in the chest. Police transported the woman to Ahuja Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.

Theft: Chagrin Boulevard

At noon July 8, police arrested a Cleveland woman, 51, for shoplifting goods valued at $93.01 from Giant Eagle, 24601 Chagrin Blvd.
