Jeremy Cliffe in Berlin and Emily Tamkin in Washington DC debrief on the G7 summit, which concluded today in Cornwall, UK.
The event was the first in-person gathering of world leaders since before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, and forms part of US President Joe Biden’s first foreign diplomatic trip since his election. In this episode Jeremy and Emily discuss what the summit revealed about the state of Western geopolitics, and indeed the role of such multilateral gatherings in a post-pandemic age.
