As the threat of an imminent third wave hangs heavy over Maharashtra, city’s Ganeshotsav mandals have decided to keep it muted. However, technology has come to their aide by making the 10-day puja and aarti accessible to all. More than 500 residential societies along and Ganesh mandals will be using an application called Vayam that will help the devotees to enjoy the festival in real time. While it may seem that it is similar to a simple live darshan and aarti; with this app, revelers can also participate in the process themselves.
Mahesh Harale of Mati Ganpati Ganesh Mandal explains, “To adhere with all Covid protocols, we have decided to celebrate Ganpati festival through Vayam application. From the 10-day puja to daily aarti, we will be streaming it all on the app. All the members of the mandal and the devotees across the city will be able to attend all the rituals right from their homes.
