Using 2020 data from Gridwise, which makes an app that tracks pay and passenger demand for ride-hail drivers, Business Insider compared the average hourly earnings for Uber and Lyft drivers in 16 of the biggest cities in the US.
Though the gap between the apps is rarely more than $1 per hour, Uber offered drivers a slight edge, with higher earnings in 12 of the cities.
