Ongoing ‘stalking’ claims disputed by library staffers: Pepper Pike Police Blotter

An employee at the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Orange branch, located in Pepper Pike, reported shortly after noon on July 25 that he had just arrived for work when a woman approached and asked if he was stalking her.

He mentioned the incident to other staff members and at least two said that they had been accused of similar unfounded and off-the-wall allegations in the past.

Police were checking to see if they all originated with the same woman, believed to be from Lyndhurst, based on the license plate number that was provided by the library.

Theft by deception: Courtland Road

A resident may be out $7,000 as the result of a phone scam reported on July 27, in which someone called her and claimed that her bank accounts had been compromised.

To make it right, the resident was instructed to purchase gift cards and relay the numbers on them to the caller. Police continue to warn residents…
