Liverpool fans warned over ticket scam ahead of Champions League final


A warning was issued to Liverpool FC fans heading to Paris by police to think twice before paying for tickets.

After Liverpool’s victory over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League semi-final, Red’s fans have made plans to travel to Paris this Saturday, May 28, for the final. Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the final and thousands of fans are expected to be in France.

Plans were in place for the 2022 final to be staged in St. Petersburg, but the Russian city was stripped of this privilege following Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch an invasion of Ukraine.

Liverpool FC were given an allocation of 19,618 tickets for the final, which were allocated in a ballot. The club and Merseyside Police are now warning fans to keep their eyes out for touted tickets to make sure they aren’t caught out by scammers.
