How the Manistee County Library is making use of new technology for books, film

Manistee County Library strives to provide its patrons with access to current technology and new materials. And one way it is doing that is by adding hotspots and DVD/Blu-ray players to each of the six library branch locations.

Laptop computers are also available for patron checkout at each branch.

Hotspots are mobile wireless devices that allow patrons to access the internet at home with their laptop, tablet or phone. The library’s branches have been making good use of the new technology, which was purchased with a grant several years ago. Manistee now has a Hotspot too.

Each location has its own devices and patrons will need to check out and return inside the same home location. The device checks out for three days and patrons are required to sign paperwork when checking it out and returning it.
