Hokies poaching important Penn State assistant


With all the news flying around about head coaches in the college football world shifting allegiances, it’s easy to overlook some of the other rumors and news like the one about the Virginia Tech Hokies’ search for Justin Fuente’s successor. According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the Hokies are zeroing in on luring a key staff of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team.

Sources: Virginia Tech’s search has focused in on Penn State DC Brent Pry. No deal is done yet, but the hire is expected to happen soon.

Pry has been with Penn State since 2014, but he’s worked with Penn State head coach James Franklin even before that, as the two were also together during their time with the Vanderbilt Commodores. The 51-year-old Pry is also familiar with Virginia Tech, as he used to work there as a graduate assistant from 1995 to 1997 when the legendary Frank Beamer was still handling the Hokies.
