Glasgow space tech startup bags £3.1M funding to help companies with end-to-end data services


Glasgow-headquartered satellite communications startup R3-IoT is developing a technology to boost connectivity in remote areas. The Scottish company recently secured a £3.1 million seed investment round led by US-based VC Space Capital, joined by Scottish National Investment Bank.

Other investors include the University of Strathclyde, alongside North American-based Ryan Johnson, former CEO of BlackBridge, Nathan Kundtz, CEO of, and Loren Padelford, former GM of Revenue at Shopify, also participated. 

The company intends to use the funding to accelerate its international growth strategy, establish its presence in North America, and planning to hire people in 20 new roles over the next eighteen months in its engineering, technical, sales, and marketing functions
