Former Assam CM Saikia’s son granted bail in loan scam case » Scammer News

A Special CBI court on Monday granted bail to Ashok Saikia son of former Assam chief minister, Hiteswar Saikia in connection with a loan scam in the Assam State Co-operative and Agriculture Development (ASCARD) Bank.

Saikia was arrested on Sunday from his residence in Guwahati. On Monday he was produced in court. He produced a letter of settled dues with the bank and made public a letter of the bank claiming that there are no dues pending against him. The statement, issued on October 10, 2015, was signed by the then General Manager in-charge, H.N. Borah.

Saikia told media persons outside the court, “I was asked to appear before the court last month however I failed to appear and a non-bailable warrant was issued against me. I appeared and produced documents that point out that I have no dues pending against my name. The CBI has not subjected me to any interrogation.”
