Has anyone else been getting random text messages on your phone saying something along the lines of “You haven’t picked up your phone worth $1,288.00,” or “Your package has been stopped at the terminal. Please resolve the problem by clicking on this link?”

It seems I’m getting more than several of those types of texts per day here lately.

It used to be random email, but it now seems the scammers are trying a new tactic, using text messaging.

I still get the emails too, but they are easier to filter through. Either way, those types of messages are definitely a scam. As the old saying goes, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

Text scams are much less common than email scams, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore the possibility of receiving one.
