The Elmhurst owner of Goliath Construction Corporation has pleaded guilty to committing fraud against customers in Will, DuPage and Cook counties.
Edmund Kavanaugh, 53, pleaded guilty to home repair fraud and theft in DuPage and Cook counties, according to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
Kavanaugh was sentenced to seven years in prison for the convictions in DuPage and Cook counties, according to the Illinois Attorney General’s office. Those sentences will run concurrently.
Kavanaugh previously pleaded guilty to continuing a financial crimes enterprise in Will County. State’s Attorney James Glasgow called Kavanaugh a “textbook scam artist” after Kavanaugh was sentenced to seven years in prison.
“It is about time that this con artist who has swindled victims throughout the Chicagoland area has received what he so richly deserves – time in prison,” Glasgow said.
