A Nelson beautician is frustrated and upset Facebook refused to intervene after a copycat profile pretending to be her business scammed her customers.
Nelson Brows and Beauty co-owner Sophie Ham said that Facebook refused to take down the fake pages, despite several customers being tricked into giving away their credit card information.
After being told of the scam, Ham immediately went to Facebook asking them to shut the fake pages down. A customer also flagged the profile as fake.
Facebook told Ham that the fake profiles did not breach Facebook’s community standards, and they would not be shutting down the pages, she said.
