A shooting Monday afternoon at a business in Jordan sent one man to a Springfield hospital and left another under investigation by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release from Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, the shooting occurred just before 1:30 p.m. at 8231 Hwy 177 South. After a 9-1-1 call, authorities arrived to find the shooting victim outside of the business and administered medical attention.
The alleged shooter was identified and contacted. Authorities say the victim and shooter are related, with a no-contact order in place between the parties, which also prohibited the victim from being on the premises.
Authorities interviewed the alleged shooter, who claimed he was defending himself. A search warrant was executed at the business and a firearm was seized.
The sheriff says no arrests have been made at this time and the matter remains under investigation….
