MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s an old scam taking on a new form.
The Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South reports scammers are posing as Amazon customer service representatives again but instead of using texts and emails, the scammers are using robocalls!

“It was really extreme, and it really felt like harassment,” said Stacy Brown.
Brown said she got calls every 15 minutes for more than five hours Sunday night and it all started with one call that looks real.
“Normally, I don’t answer any unknown phone calls and usually pop up as unknown. What got me this time was they actually had real people’s names on the caller ID,” she said.
Brown said she when she answered she got a recoding.
“Saying something about an unauthorized purchase from Amazon and that I needed to push a certain number to speak to someone in their customer service dept. but I hung up,” said Brown.
